OUR TRUFFLES

Cool climate truffles grown on a fourth generation, family-owned farm

In 2005, our family planted 80 English oak, French oak and hazlenut trees on the ridge of our property, straddling the Duckmaloi River, a perennial stream east of Shooters Hill, near Oberon NSW.

Our truffles are now enjoyed across the country by those who appreciate the earthy yet subtle aroma of these culinary jewels that thrive in the cool climate beyond the Blue Mountains. The season runs in winter, from June to August, with the other months spent tending to the trees. The truffles start growing in February and March with warm days and cold nights, ripening in the colder months with the frosts and snow.

Until recently, Simon was ably assisted by Jimmy, a loving and clever kelpie who had honed his skills as a truffle dog. Darling Jimmy died suddenly in 2023 and is survived by Kombie, our border collie. We have also welcomed Cooper to our family - a cheeky brown and white border collie.
